White Birches Motel

We really were pleased with our visit here. We stayed 2 separate nights, each a week apart as we were traveling to and returning from a vacation in another state. The Birches was far better than many of the reviews from the past. A new couple has purchased it and is doing a great job. It's clean, updated and the service is top notch. It's also reasonably priced. We had a nice stove top, kitchen sink and fridge. Comfy bed and very clean bathroom. They appear to be renovating and are doing a lot of work on the premises. But I must say our stay was quiet and we were able to rest comfortably after our travels. I highly recommend without hesitation.

The staff were friendly and they offered us a great weekly rate. The rooms offered utensils , plates, cups and pots and pans. I loved the cabinet space and overall space of the room. It was a pleasant stay for me and my family.

Stayed here for a long weekend to visit Acadia National park on a budget. Staff was friendly. Free coffee is a bonus. Room was clean and appeared updated some walls had paint scratches -not a big deal. And it’s Maine - you will get a bug that sneaks in with you. No cockroaches or bed bugs. We had a unit second from the far end (154). Was able to park near unit and there was not a lot of people wandering or dogs barking like other reviews said. I found it safe even if I was traveling alone. Ride to Acadia was reasonable and restaurants in the area were also good. I would stay here again

My wife and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Room was fantastic had everything we needed. Kitchenette with fridge microwave stove top and sink as well as dinnerware silverware pots and pans and utensils. We have stayed in Vrbo homes that were not as adequately stocked. Old school motel with drive up to door but very well maintained and super convenient location. Be sure and experience the fantastic staff Whitney was out check in clerk-couldn’t be nicer and super helpful. Miss Benita was the manager whom I did not have the opportunity to meet but with Whitney’s assistance she was very helpful in fixing a near tragic error of mine. I booked my room and did not ask for a handicap accessible room as my wife had recently had surgery which made stairs of any kind or walking distances impossible. If you’re going to the Ellsworth area and do not stay here you are missing out and in my opinion you may regret your decision. Thank you all again and we will be back as often as we can!

The price was right, everything worked, the room was basic and clean, and the shower had very good water pressure. No breakfast included but fresh coffee available in the office with free snack. I would stay again.

Stayed in an end room so no noise. Rooms have been recently painted (high gloss paint so the walls literally shine when the six brilliant 100 watt overhead lights are on) so no complaints about darkness. The flooring is new LVP. Bathroom is small but adequate. The bed was quite comfortable. The room was clean and for bugs- we had 3 ladybugs which I caught and released outside. The wall heat pump is new, quiet and efficient. Our curtain rod fell down and I managed to get it rehung. No breakfast but there is coffee and a few grab and go snacks. Biggest complaint is price but then again it was a holiday weekend and we wanted to be close to Acadia. Supply and demand.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the white birches in their suite and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I was a little skeptical considering the abundance of negative reviews, however, we had a great experience. The front desk area was clean and the lady working was extremely friendly and welcoming, as well as the cleaning staff. Our room was spacious, clean, and adorably decorated. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of places normally overlooked in hotels, like the bathrooms sliding glass shower entrance hinges and door, were spotless. In our experience, nothing any of the bad reviews said were true in any way. I’m aware some of these perks might be because I booked the suite, but I did get a good look in the rooms when they were being cleaned in the mornings and they looked very nice as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Cute, clean room. Conveniently located between Bangor and Bar Harbor...close to scenic routes. No breakfast is served and they have snacks but they are vending machine ones. They were also accommodating to our very late check in after midnight...they leave your key in a night box.
